The Tug Margot is a 90-foot-long “Super Canaler,” the last of about a half-dozen boats built in the 1950s to transport oil on the New York State Canal System from the Ocean to the Great Lakes. She displaces 260 tons of water, has more than 1,200 horsepower and features a telescoping wheelhouse that goes up and down to clear low bridges on the canal.
Speaker: Rob Goldman, co-owner of New York State Marine Highway Transportation Company.
